.NOV 7, 2022, Sheldon IA - Rome Grinding Solutions is proud to announce that President Kate Rome has been named The Most Impactful Woman of the Year by The Women’s Meat Industry Network (WMIN). Rome was chosen for this award based on her history of leadership and the promotion and development of women in the industry. In addition to her contributions across the meat and poultry industry, Rome received this recognition for increasing the number of women employed at Rome Grinding Solutions, closing the wage gap, and equally appointing men and women as Vice Presidents for her company. The Award was presented at the North American Meat Institute’s (NAMI) Protein PACT Summit on October 12, 2022.
In regards to the honor, Rome states, “I am grateful for the opportunity that I have been given to make a meaningful impact in the professional lives of women…It has honestly been the highlight of my career, and I will continue pushing forward to achieve equality for women in our industry.”
Kate Rome has been recognized for her contributions to the advancement of women in the food processing and manufacturing industries previously with the following awards: August 2020- Leadership in Manufacturing presented by Empowering Women in Industry; August 2020- Hall of Fame Inductee, presented by Women in Manufacturing (WiM); October 2021- Red Circle Honor for Rome Grinding Solutions, presented by Food Processing Supplier’s Association (FPSA).
