An Industry Legacy

Rome Grinding Solutions, a fourth generation family/woman-owned and operated company, was established in Ankeny, IA in 1977. Now headquartered in Sheldon, Iowa, Rome is a leading manufacturer of commercial and industrial sized grinding equipment in North America.

At Rome, our core business started in the meat, poultry, pet food, and rendering industries. As we have continued to expand our business, we have gained experience in the fruit and vegetable, ingredient, seafood, dairy, and recycling industries as well.

With over 150 years of combined CNC Machining experience, in-house engineering, in-house tin-plating, and world class customer service, we can help find the best solution to get the most out of your grinding equipment.

Kate Rome

PRESIDENT

Kate leads Rome Grinding Solutions as the third-generation of the family owned business. Rome has been working for the family business for the past 23 years, and has held a multitude of positions within the company. In 2015, Kate was appointed President.

Ryan Van Maasdam

VP of Sales

Ryan has worked for Rome for over 17 years, with a clear focus on creating a customer centric business model. Van Maasdam leads the sales team and develops short and long term strategies to keep up with the industry.

Kelley Newgard

VP of Operations

Kelley also represents the third-generation of the family owned business and guides the day-to-day operations of the company. Newgard leads the finance team as well as the administrative teams.

Nicole has worked in several departments within Rome including Sourcing, Customer Service, and Production Analysis. She has worked for Rome since 2014.
