Today we celebrate International Women’s Day- a holiday implemented over 100 years ago to recognize the achievements of women, while calling to action the need for women’s equality.
This day is particularly important to Rome Grinding Solutions. Rome has always been a majority women owned company, starting with co-founder Dolores Boster, then Bonnie Weaver, and is now under the leadership of Kate Rome. Dolores and her husband Dan set the precedent that gender expectations were not relevant in the company, and developing quality employees was the priority. The Boster’s daughter, Bonnie and her husband Mike Weaver then took over the operations and continued this employee-first mindset. Since Kate Rome has taken the role as President, she has carried the legacy of ensuring equal opportunities for women in the workplace.
Rome continuously provides many opportunities for women to excel in their careers, including the availability to participate in Women’s organizations such as the FPSA Women’s Alliance Network, Women in Manufacturing, Empowering Women in Industry, and the Women’s Meat Industry Network. Rome Grinding Solutions most recently won the Red Circle Honor for Achievement in Developing and Promoting Women based on the continued efforts to provide gender balance and equality in the workplace.
Providing parity for women is something that Rome Grinding Solutions works hard to accomplish every day, and today we are proud to recognize all of the women that have made it happen.
